Mike Yetter is an accomplished athlete at
Montgomery High School. He has been a player on both the
varsity hockey and lacrosse teams since his freshman year. He
has played an integral role in the growth and respect both
teams have earned in the state.
Mike started skating at the age of five. He
played on several club hockey teams, culminating with a trip
to Nationals in 2004, where his AAA Tier 1 team finished third
in the nation. That same year Mike began his hockey career at
Montgomery High School, where he has been a solid contributor
for four years. During Mike’s participation the team has won
two county tournaments, two division championships and a trip
to the Continental Arena where they played in the public
school championship game last year. Mike’s contributions have
earned him several honors. As a sophomore he was selected the
team MVP. As a junior he led the team in points. He was
selected the Somerset County Tournament MVP and the Courier
News Player of the Year. He was named to the Public School
Championship All Tournament Team. As a senior Captain, he has
led the team in points and broken the Montgomery High School
all time scoring record. A true team player, his point total
is equally distributed between goals and assists.

Mike picked up his first lacrosse stick in the
6th grade when youth lacrosse began in the
township. He quickly developed a passion for the game. He
was selected to play on both the U13 and U15 state teams,
representing the Montgomery Youth Lacrosse Club. Mike has
been a starting varsity attack man since his freshman year.
He has helped his team to earn two division championships, a
county championship and qualification to the state tournament
each year, going all the way to the Group II finals his junior
year. Mike was the 2nd leading scorer his freshman
and sophomore years and led the team in scoring his junior
year. Through his junior season, Mike has scored 108 goals
and had 70 assists. He has received numerous recognitions for
his accomplishments, including 1st Team All-State
B, 1st Team Bianchi Division, 1st Team
All- Skyland Conference, 1st Team Princeton Packet,
1st Team Trenton Times, 2nd Team Courier
News and 3rd Team All-State Star Ledger his junior
year. He looks forward to working hard and to helping his
team achieve success during his senior season.
Mike has chosen to continue playing lacrosse at
Salisbury University next year.
