Varsity Head Coach
Tim Sullivan
Tim Sullivan has completed eight seasons as head coach
of the Montgomery High School Varsity Lacrosse Team.
He successfully developed Montgomery’s
program from the start, and in 2007 led his team to
Group 3 State Champions with an overall record of
19-4. Coach
Sullivan led his team to win both the Somerset
County Championship and Bianchi Conference. Tim was awarded Coach of the Year by the Trenton Times and
the Princeton Packet.
For
the 2006 season, the team had a record of 14-7 and
ended the season as Group 2 State Tournament
finalists. In
2005, the team had a 17-4 overall record and won
both the Bianchi Division and Somerset County
Championship. The
team finished the season as semi-finalists in the
Group 2 State Tournament. Coach Sullivan was awarded Coach of the Year by both the
Trenton Times and the Princeton Packet.
In
2004, Tim coached the team to a 17-5 overall record,
winning their conference as well as participating in
the state tournament.
Coach Sullivan was selected 2004 Coach of the
Year by the Trenton Times, the Princeton Packet and
the Courier News.
Prior
to starting the Montgomery program, Tim successfully
developed a lacrosse program in Hopewell.
He coached the Hopewell team for six years
and led them to a conference title. Tim was also head varsity coach in Fairlawn.
Coach
Sullivan has over ten years of personal experience
playing lacrosse.
He played as a defenseman for Montclair State
University and was selected First Team All
Conference for three years, 1987-1989.
Tim also played for Montclair High School,
winning two New Jersey state lacrosse championships
during the 1984 and 1985 seasons.
Tim
is a 1989 graduate of Montclair State University
where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Physical Education and Health.
He is currently a physical education teacher
at the Orchard Hill Elementary School in Montgomery.
Tim
and his wife Jackie have one year-old twins, Grace
and Shane.
